Mabus - Mahmoud Abbas

This quatrain was interpretd in July 2010

Century II, Quatrain 62
Mabus will then soon die and there will come a dreadful destruction of people and animals. Suddenly vengeance will be revealed, a hundred hands, thirst and hunger, when the comet will pass.

Interpretation with Explanatory Remarks
I believe “Mabus” is an anagram for Mahmoud Abbas, the current Palestinian leader. If this is accepted as the right interpretation, Nostradamus is telling us the following:

After the passing away of Mahmoud Abbas, the world will experience a devastating destruction from a nuclear attack.

Following this nuclear attack, the Muslim people will rise up, presumably, against the Israelis in retribution for the mistreatments they received during the last few decades.

The words “…dreadful destruction of people and animals” indicates that the cause of this destruction is, most probably, a nuclear attack (notice Nostradamus’ expression “… people and animals”). In other words, the results of the attack will be extensive and serious. Nostradamus’ prediction is further qualified by the word “dreadful”, which clearly portrays the after-affects of nuclear radiation – just like Hiroshima and Nagasaki in world war II.

The expression “…when the comet will pass” refers to guided missiles, presumably the ones from North Korea. (Note: To a psychic who lived about five hundred years ago, a guided missile is probably the best pictorial analogy to a comet.)

General Comments:
Let us now try to validate this prediction and assess its relevancy to: first, other associated Nostradamus predictions; and second, its relevancy to current ongoing geopolitical events in the Middle East and the Korean peninsula.

Other associated Nostradamus predictions –

a. Century II, Quatrain 46, says “After great misery for mankind an even greater approaches when the great cycle of the centuries is renewed. It will rain blood, milk, famine, war and disease: In the sky will be seen a fire, dragging a trail of sparks.” For details on this quatrain please refer to the original interpretation. What I like to point out here is that the two quatrains complement each other. In addition, Century II, Quatrain 46 gives us a timing benchmark, namely, this event will take place after the second millennium. The timing may also coincide with the age of Mahmoud Abbas. He is currently about 75 years old, and not in good health. His time, in terms of a natural death, is running out. The criticality of the timing of his passing away is explained in a paragraph below.

b. Century V, Quatrain 54, says “From beyond the Black Sea and great Tartary, there will be a king who will come to see France. He will pass through Alania and Armenia and leave his bloody rod in Byzantium.” Once again, for details please see the original interpretation. This prediction gives us three crucial and germane points. The first crucial point is that these two predictions relate to each other and they both describe the same attack. The second crucial point is that Century V, Quatrain 54, specifies that this nuclear attack will target primarily the geographic area of the Byzantine Empire, namely, the Middle East. The third crucial point tells us that the attack will come from North Korea.

c. The only remaining relevant question to be answered is “the precise time” of this attack. The timing of Mabus’ passing away is extremely important, and you will see why further down. I believe the answer to this question could be evolved from the analysis of the second type of validation, below.

Relevancy to current ongoing geopolitical events –

a. First, the July 2010 events in the Korean peninsula point to a serious deterioration of relations among North Korea and South Korea/U.S. The most recent threat came from North Korea, that if South Korea and the U.S. were to go ahead with the joint naval exercise, North Korea would reciprocate with nuclear weapons. Such threats have been made by North Korea many times before. However, the situation nowadays is a lot more serious. As more and more external pressure is exerted on North Korea, and Kim Jong il’s position becomes more desperate, the likelihood of him carrying out his threat becomes a greater probability.

The real issue in the Korean conflict is that Kim Jong il is fighting for the continuation of his family’s dynasty, and he is not willing to fade away or acquiesce unless he gets what he wants. Stubbornness and determination have been salient characteristics of his personality throughout the many years in power. His ruthlessness won’t stop at anything that even implies a potential threat to his dynasty. He certainly won’t change at this late age – just because we demand of him to do so. The administration’s assumption that external political pressure and economic embargoes will eventually topple him is the most serious error in judgment. We will never force him to abdicate or give up his aspirations. Our actions are merely convincing him to speed-up his nuclear-strike capability, and when he has the capacity of carrying out his threats, he will strike back at us with everything he has. The probability therefore of a nuclear attack is rising exponentially with every passing day. When he is ready, he will do so. Whatever weapons of mass destruction he has in his arsenal, he will use them. This is exactly what Nostradamus has predicted.

b. In the case of the Middle East, hostilities between Israel and the Palestinians are increasing with the two parties assuming a more intransigent position. Resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian political issues is at an ever increasing impasse, with no foreseeable reconciliation. Furthermore, with every new hostile episode, hatred and resentment rise. Therefore, what Nostradamus tells us about the “thirst for vengeance” by the Muslim population, it makes perfect sense. From the Palestinian viewpoint, the uprising represents the ultimate catharsis for all injustices done in years past. A Muslim uprising may indeed be an unavoidable event. The fact that Iran is expeditiously working on a nuclear program renders this prediction even more credible. There can be no doubt Iran will do its outmost to foment an uprising. In fact, in another quatrain (Century V, Quatrain 86) Nostradamus tells us, loud and clear, that it will be Iran that will foment the Muslim uprising. Nostradamus is telling us the event will take place following the North Korean attack.

c. Rightfully so, many readers may question Nostradamus’ prediction of a Muslim uprising against Israel. There is no doubt that the prediction contradicts up-to-date empirical evidence. The U.S. and Israel have been close allies for a very long time. History portrays a picture of continuous solidarity among the two countries. The U.S. could not possibly let such an event take place. Rightfully so, many readers will assume that the U.S., once again, as in the past, will protect Israel. However, this is not the implication derived from Nostradamus’ prediction, and here is why he may be correct.

Israel’s expansionary strategy is no longer approved by the Western world. Cracks are already appearing here and there. Most recently, during his July 27, 2010 visit to Turkey, Prime Minister David Cameron of Great Britain was supportive of Turkey’s position vis-à-vis the deplorable situation in Gaza. In addition, Nostradamus has predicted that North Korea’s nuclear attack will annihilate the economies of the Western countries. Under such deplorable economic conditions, the U.S. may lose its will for future support of Israel. In fact, the U.S. may be financially too broke to help anybody.

d. Now we come to the last point, Mabus, otherwise known to us as Mahmoud Abbas. The importance of the Mabus quatrain is that it gives us the relative timing of North Korea’s nuclear attack. If, indeed, my interpretation about Mabus is correct, it will constitute the ultimate validation of the quatrain. Mahmoud Abbas is currently about 75 years old. If Mabus is Mahmoud Abbas, he will have to pass away some time between July 2010 (the time I am writing this interpretation) and before November 2012. I am saying “before November 2012” because Nostradamus has predicted the nuclear attack to take place ahead of the geologic upheavals that are presumably predicted to take place circa November 2012.
